Lovely suites, great location, good value

Condominio Fabiola. How do I explain this place? First of all central. It’s within two streets of the famous Coco Bongo club and 5th avenue restaurant and shopping district therefore very practical really.

The apartment complex has a concierge workplace and nighttime safety in the gate. The common area is fantastic and welcoming with diffusers emitting blossom mist everywhere. Other guests told us where to go snorkeling nearby playa del carmen for families. The pool area is appealing on first appearances but the pool is cold, and it wasn’t cleaned out very often as it was full of leaves all over. You do not notice that till you get in.

The apartment is equipped with a certain degree. You can cook a fast breakfast however if you are anticipating a fully equipped all singing all dancing kitchen forget it. There’s no coffee maker, no pot, no teapot nothing to make a hot drink. The pans are ok but heavily used and need replacing. There is no sharp knives meat or bread for preparing any kind of meal such as a sandwich or chicken. If some of them were there, it was nicely hidden. The fridge was okay but needed replacing – it was going very yellowish with age. The cleanliness was ok but had a good thorough deep clean.

The beds were comfy, and air conditioning was available in all the rooms. My room was beautiful; however, it had been adjacent to the hall along with the window wasn’t insulated. So that I could listen to all of the goings-on in the corridors, and it seemed as though the cleaning ladies were in my room which wasn’t surprising because my window was a sliding window with a gap between the sashes. Not good for romantic holiday moments let’s say.

The bathrooms were fit for purpose; however, the main shared bathroom got humid very quickly and stayed so. Also, it is impossible to adjust the shower head. Netflix and wifi were available. Standard cutlery and chinaware are available. Large dining room. Smoking is permitted on the balconies but not over the apartments obviously.

On our last night, we did see a massive cockroach, and we did notify reception who loved letting them understand. But it is a hot, humid country and cockroaches are common so I was not freaked out. I wasn’t bowled over to become honest. I spent a week, but for me, that has been too long. In case the Fabiola work on my issues mentioned then my score would become higher.

Ok if you aren’t fussy and are not considering spending your time at the apartment. It was comfortable and clean enough, but it might be better for the amount we paid. But, still, excellent place to go.
